The Nissan Mexicana earlier announced that it will unveil a new compact sedan to the Mexican market based on the Renault Logan. The upcoming sedan is set to go on sale in Mexico this summer.

The new vehicle will be built at the Renault of Brazil industrial complex in Curitiba. Further information about the upcoming vehicle, including its name, specifications and powertrain, will be announced later by the automaker. Nonetheless, the car is expected to have the distinct and trusted auto parts like the Nissan Exedy clutch kit, engines, suspension, radiator, brakes, and more.

Nissan’s new vehicle will form part of Mexicana's compact car lineup that includes the Platina, Tiida and Tsuru sedan. The Platina is a supermini or subcompact which was originally launched in 1990. The car is inspired by Renault Clio with slight changes in the front of the car. The Nissan Tiida sedan, a compact car based on the B platform with stretched wheelbase, serves as replacement for both the Pulsar and the Sunny vehicles. Nissan Tsuru, a small car, was originally launched in 1966. The Tsuru is larger than the supermini but not as big as the Bluebird models.

To make Nissan Mexico lineup even more powerful, it will be adding up an interesting new compact car. The automaker is also strengthening its alliance with Renault. Importing the Renault-made Nissan vehicle to Mexico is another example of the possibilities and strength of the Renault Nissan Alliance in regard vehicle development. At present, the Renault Clio is built at the Nissan plant in Aguascalientes, Mexico.

The Logan, sold in other markets under the Dacia and Renault brands, has established clear cut success in Eastern and Western Europe. The car recently was launched in India to boost Nissan’s lineup. The production of Logan started in 2004 in Romania by Dacia, a subsidiary of Renault. Since the car first went on sale, more than 450,000 vehicles have been sold around the globe.

The Curitiba Industrial Complex was established in 1998. The facility produces both Nissan and Renault branded commercial and passenger vehicles, including the Frontier pick-up truck, the Xterra sport-utility vehicle and now the Logan-based products, as well as the Renault Clio, Megane and Scenic families and the Master Van. Additionally, Renault engines are also produced in the same facility.

The Logan-based product will also be sold through the Renault sales channel in Brazil and Argentina. This piece of information was earlier confirmed by Renault.
